Several major websites, apps, and services, including Spotify, Discord, and Snapchat, experienced brief service disruptions on Tuesday afternoon during a global Google Cloud outage.
The outage began around 1:00 p.m. ET with customers unable to access the services and experiencing 404 errors. Google announced that the cloud network issue was fixed for all affected projects at 3:08 p.m. ET.
“At around 10:10 AM Pacific Time on November 16, some of our customers experienced a service interruption due to a bug in the Google Cloud network. The problem is now fixed, “Google said in another update at 3:30 p.m. ET.
DownDetector was seeing an increase in outages for multiple websites around the same time that the Google Cloud outage occurred. Spotify, Discord, Snapchat, and Etsy were among the notable services affected.
“Reports suggest that Google Cloud may be experiencing a widespread outage that can affect your service,” said DownDetector.
Both Snapchat and Spotify confirmed connectivity issues during the outage.
“A lot of Snapchatters have problems with the app. Wait, we’re working on a solution. In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in,” tweeted Snapchat.

“We are currently aware of some problems and are looking into them! We will keep you updated, ”said Spotify.
Both sides later tweeted that the problem appeared to be resolved.
